Domestic?

Who?

 Me?

 WHAT????

Quick!  What do I do!  I am becoming domesticated!  I enjoy fixing supper for my family!  What happened to me?  I HATE cooking!

Sigh....

It must be a side effect of this thing called submission.

First it was fixing his lunch and breakfast.  Now it is cooking supper?  Next thing you know I will be cleaning the bathroom with a tooth brush.

YIKES!

When we met Dragon could follow a recipe but that doesn't mean you can cook.    He made me a home made spaghetti dinner while I was at work one day.  It tasted like canned tomatoes and nothing else.  I taught him how to season to taste. Taste the food you are cooking and know what your spices will do to the flavor.  Now he is teaching me how to make the dishes our family loves.  No, there isn't a recipe for most of it.  Over the years he has taken our favorite dishes and made them better.

I'm learning....

Last night I made curry rice for the first time.  It was Yummy even if the meat was too tuff.  oops.  I think that was my fault.  I am still trying to figure out how the dish washer got loaded.  Did I do that?  Yes, I think I did.

Scary, spooky things are happening at my house.

  1. Now you see what TTWD can do: It kicks out the HATE, it brings in the enjoyment, it cooks dinner and loads the dish washer.
And all of that without charge.
    Well, no financial charge anyways.

    1. That it does! I enjoy cooking now but it is nice when he gets home early enough to to take a turn. I still have more to learn

  2. hey, i used to roll my eyeballs at my mum always putting dinner out on the table for my dad.

I'll marry a chef who'll cook for me, i decided.

these days i'm boiling water making coffee and bringing it to him. Then i kneel at his feet and gaze into his face.

    oh yes, things change indeed.

    1. I hope he gets home in time for supper tonight. I don't know what to fix. Yikes. I'm not very good at creating meals without a menu.

    1. I love knowing he has a fully belly first thing in the morning. I even like seeing him put up his feet to watch me cook. I think it is a great side effect!

  5. Hooray for recipe-less cooking! Isn't it a lot of fun to experiment with flavors and spice combinations? Before you know it, you'll have explored a dozen variations of the curry you made... so much fun!

    1. I tried Indian curry but think I will stick with the oriental version. A lady at the grocery store told us to add coca nut milk to it. It didn't sound like it would be good but we have it a try. It gives it a different flavor but I liked it. Now I know why my curry wasn't as good as my friends. She didn't tell me her secret ingredient.

    2. LOL - ours, too, the oldest (10) just smiles & shakes his head, the 7-year-old gets this embarrassed grin & says, 'Again? In public? Seriously?' Daddy says, 'mmmhmmm, wanna see it again?" ;)
