Inventory

I turned my sewing into a business several years ago.  Life has been so busy lately that I haven't gotten around to filing the dreaded income taxes.  Yikes.  The deadline is almost here.  Monday I got the documents sent and today I finally finished the inventory for the business.

Scary stuff...   YIKES

Do you know how much damage a nesting mouse can do?  Over $200 in merchandise gone.  Grrrr.   Specialty polo shirts that I sell to fire departments.  100% cotton in a certain style and color.  Hard to find and expensive.  GONE   GRRRRR  Some of the shirts and hats are salvageable but I can't sell damaged goods.  I won't do it.  Guess I'll wash everything and take it to the salvation army.  That makes me mad.

Now I know where the mice are coming in and I have solved that problem.  That is what happens when you move as often as I do.  You discover NICE little surprises living the houses.  Like the snake under the bath tub and the nest of mice it was snacking on.

Squick.....and the house looked so nice and well maintained.  It was newly renovated   Fooled me.

I just hope our moving adventures will be over and done with soon.  I want a forever house.

Now who thinks I deserve a good girl spanking?

After three days of counting, computers and allergies I need a reward.

Dragon did mention a bubble bath.  He spoils me and I love every minute of it.

I think spring went on vacation this week so a warm bath sounds like heaven.

  2. Get an indoor cat (if you aren't allergic). I've lived in my house for 30 years. I saw one little bitty mouse. My cat had sat on the dryer all day the day before. I thought that he just found a new favorite spot, like cats do. The next day, he was chasing a itty bitty mouse under one piece of furniture to another. The mouse disappeared never to be seen again. I think he found the dryer vent and went out the same way he came in. He was young.. lesson learned.. Do not come in houses with cats. I'm sorry you lost your stuff. Mice can really damage wires in a house too, and cause fires, so do whatcha' gotta do. God bless you and yours, and good luck with the taxes. -Belle L.

    1. Dragon said no cats. After we lost Gracy Cat, Dragon decided that cats cause too many problems with my allergies. I think the mice are gone for good. Traps, poison and snake be gone stuff. Hope so any way.

Now I just need to hear back from the book keeper that does my taxes

  3. Hey Rose...I hate mice and yes, they do a lot of damage. grrr When you take those shirts for donation, make sure you get a receipt for the value of them...you can deduct it from your income tax next year.

Hope you enjoyed your bubble bath...they can be heavenly. Have my fingers, toes and eyes crossed that you get a GG spanking soon. ;)

    Blessings,
    Cat

    1. I will get a receipt. Those shirts were expensive. No mice in the traps for two weeks. I am hoping that they are gone for good.

    1. Me too. $$$ and I can't afford to replace it. Oh well. Too late to cry over it now.

Still waiting to hear from the book keeper... I just hope we break even this year.

  7. You will have to get some mousetraps! I keep one set permanently in one of the kitchen drawers - the cat hasn't yet managed to master opening drawers! But the snake!!! EEEEK!

    1. The mice were cleaning the peanut butter off the first set of traps we set. The second set of traps were more expensive but worked much better.
