Comfort

There is comfort to be found in routine.  This morning I got up with the alarm.  Almost on autopilot I moved.  First, gathering the ingredients for Dragon's breakfast, then standing by the stove to prepare his meal.  Every move my hands made, were in a set pattern.  Not a ritual set by Dragon.  Only my own submission.

Submitting to him.  That is what brings me comfort.  Taking care of his most basic needs.  He needs my company in the mornings before he leaves for work.  He needs a hot meal to sustain him.    He needs to know I care enough to care for him.

I fix his lunch.  The simple meal packed into a small ice chest.  It is something small.  It only takes me a few minutes to pack.  How can something so small mean so much?  I make his lunch while he eats his breakfast.  During the day, it gives him nourishment but it is also a little part of me.  In a way it is a symbol of my submission and love.

Even when he is away from me, he can feel my presence and my love.  When he was military I didn't fix his lunch.  He always had a kitchen to use and a place to keep a small bag of groceries.  Now it is different.  Things have changed and so have I.

I like this new way of doing things.  I like taking care of my Dragon.

The wedding is tonight.  Dragon woke me this morning with the paddle.  Just a small reminder that I need to be on my best behavior.  The rental care has been picked up.  The directions printed out and the gps plugged into the rental car.  All I need to do is dress.    I can do this.  Breath.

  1. It's great to read how your submission extends beyond obedience. At it's very heart, submission is the priceless gift a wife offers her husband. Your post shows that you understand how to make that gift renew itself day by day. Your husband is a blessed man.

    1. The little things keep a marriage strong day by day. Those are the things that make us feel loved. I am the one blessed to have him in my life.

  2. You can do this. You are a strong woman.

That's how I show my husband love too, by doing the little things he doesn't expect. He knows he appreciated and loved.

    1. He comes home so tired every day. I know he misses cooking for the family but it has to be a relief to sit down and relax. I try to have dinner ready every night when he gets home. Sometimes he misses dinner but I save my dinner. I eat with him every night.

  3. Like most men, Dragon is capable of doing anything when he knows that Home is waiting for him and that he will be welcome back. By taking care of his meals, he feels deeply that your presence never leaves him. It is a link with home. A message that he is not forgotten and that he will be cared for when he gets back exhausted. That's all he needs: knowing that you will be there to welcome him.

    1. Thanks Bas. I know he doesn't have time to really sit down and eat his lunch. He eats it a little bit at a time when ever he can. It makes me feel closer to him, knowing he is eating the food I prepared. I try to welcome him at the door too. Sometimes he sneaks up on me but I get the first hug every night.

  4. Hello Dragon's Rose. I've been enjoying your posts, but haven't commented before. I can really relate to what you're saying here. I also enjoy sending my husband, Blue, off to work with a good, healthy homemade lunch everyday. It's like I'm there with him in some small way. He's told me he always thinks of me during lunch and I like that! Like you do with Dragon, I also greet Blue at the door and show him how happy I am to have him home again. I love taking care of him in any way I can. I want to and I feel it's the least I can do for all the many ways he takes care of me. I guess that sounds hopelessly old-fashioned in this day and age, but I find I don't care!

    1. He works so hard, I can do a little something to say thank you. Old -fashioned? Sometimes I think the old ways are better.

Thanks for your reply! I love hearing from my readers. :)
