Living With PTSD

Things have leveled out again but living with PTSD is a little like this.

It is a wild ride.  Emotions are turned all the way on or completely off. Anger, fear, happiness.  All of it.

The wild ride continues....

This is what we deal with every day.  Yes, we are still a DD couple and kinky.  We love to play and explore the more serious side.  The structure actually helps.

One day at a time.

    1. Drugs don't help and he was recently released from his counselor. There is no cure. There is no quick fix.

  4. Sending prayers and supportive energy to you both. I can only imagine how hard it is for you. Mt dad had it after the Second World War, and he rarely spoke about the horrors he witnessed. Sadly he was always very temperamental and I was often hit. As the years went by he improved, but it took a long time and I never felt truly relaxed with him, although he quite simply adored my mother and went into a downward spiral when she died. It's good you are able to discuss his worse memories as I think to talk about awful things does help.

    1. He tells me very little. He tells me that he is having flash backs but not what he sees. I am his Jimminy Cricket, sounding board and voice of reason. Over the years I have learned when to listen and when to call him out.

The kids are affected by it but we do what we can to shelter them. Dragon knows when he is getting out of control and leaves. Frustration gets vented with a hammer and nails. It works.

  5. Hello. I am a very occasional reader of your blog. I was just browsing when I pulled this up. I became very concerned by its content but could find no way to email you privately, which was my preference. Are you or your husband aware of therapy dogs for PTSD victims. I am very familiar with an outstanding organization and would love to pass the details onto you. I could not see any way to contact you privately. In any event, these therapy dogs are very, very helpful. I just wanted to make you aware. Cordially....

  6. So sorry to hear you have to deal with PTSD. It sucks.
Even if drugs don't help, acupuncture can be helpful and doesn't require rehashing the traumatising experience. Just google "acupuncture for PTSD" to get started. Best of luck!!
