Yes, I know this isn't a political blog but it is affecting me RIGHT NOW.
Right after the hurricane water could be found for $40+ a case. Media pressure was enough to bring the price back down.
Now the oil industry is cashing in on the disaster. Gas prices are up almost $2 a gallon. The media has created a false panic about nonexistent shortages.
I pray the Governor Abbot or President Trump put a stop to this fast! We are already struggling without this mess.
I was just out and passed several gas stations and it's only up a few cents here - $2.19 a gallon.
ReplyDeleteMost gas station around here are at $4. I have heard of it as high as $8. I hope Abbot keeps his word and fines them $25,0000. It is insane. Dallas is normally crowded but right now you can't move.
DeleteI am in south East Texas. So far the prices haven't been to bad. We were two days without power. Many people lost everything in our small town. We are just going back to work tomorrow. I hope ya'll are ok and didn't suffer any damage from the storm.
ReplyDeleteI'm in North Texas. We got a little rain out of the storm but not much. The lakes around us are full. We don't need any more rain. The $4 gas was in Dallas. I'm not sure where the $8 gas is. I hope Abbot keeps his word about the price gouging.
