We wanted to record our journey as we learn how to incorporate Domestic Discipline into our lives. I am a wife who has been Taken-in-Hand by her husband. I am loved and cherished by him. I am his little china doll and he is mine forever.

The little things in life
Yesterday morning, I was making Dragon's lunch. Something I do six days a week. I make it the same way every day. Just the way he likes it. When I looked up, I saw Dragon looking at my with a smile on his face. He said " I love you too " ******** To him, that simple act shows how much I love him. The sandwich neatly wrapped, fruit and a cookie. With a napkin folded on top. How do you show love to the the most important person in your life? Sometimes small actions speak louder than words and feel better than a hug.

Very sweet and you are very right!
ReplyDeleteThank you. His words made my day. I had to share.
DeleteThis is beautiful Rose. I make Daddy's lunch too and sometimes leave him notes in it. He often tells me how much he appreciates it. And to him it speaks of my love for him.

I leave him notes when I can but I have our mornings timed to the minute. Our routine doesn't leave me any time without him in the room. I'll have to find time to leave a love letter for him. Thanks
DeleteSo true :)
ReplyDelete;-)
DeleteThank you Rose for reminding us that sometimes it is the smallest things. Hope you and your Dragon are getting some time to play.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Cat
You are most welcome. He works long hours but we take time when we can
DeleteThis is an elegant, exquisite post, Rose. You are so right. It is the smallest of acts. Seeing him limp because his hip kicks out and giving him Advil and some water, or making his favorite cookies, or having his water glass filled so he can drink when he comes home from a run, or from work.
ReplyDeleteOther things I do, things like having dinner ready or the laundry always done, or the house clean, his lunch made, I just think they are thing that are expected....not by him.....by me. But he goes out of the way to thank me for these things and tell me how much they mean to him. And that makes me feel incredible.
Thanks for the reminder to do even the simplest things with love.

You are welcome and thank you for sharing the ways you show love.
DeleteWhat a sweet post!!
ReplyDeleteThe other day I was putting He-Man's socks away and something was snagged in his drawer. As I tried to locate the problem, I found every card, note, letter that I have ever given him stuffed in the back of his drawer. It brought tears to my eyes. :)
It's the small things, like you said.:)
I know that I cried when I found Dragon's box of letters. Between multiple deployments and schools, I have written him hundreds of letters. I think he kept every one.
DeleteThank you very much for reminding me about letters. That is a way Dragon said "I love you " without saying anything at all.
Fresh cup of coffee placed on his nightstand at 0-dark-30, for when he gets out of the shower in the morning.
ReplyDeleteFunny you posted this when you did. D told me just last night how much he likes that I have a cup of coffee waiting for him, barely cooling so he can drink it just as he likes it. I never knew he preferred that to going to the kitchen for coffee.
It's heartwarming when they notice things we do for them, especially those things we do without knowing it shows that we love them. Very nice post, Rose.
